Mental Health First Aid Courses

Accredited by MHFA England in the Adult: 2 day, 1 day and half day courses.  Learning takes place through a mix of group activities, presentations and discussions.  What you learn depends on the length of the course.

Everyone, without exception, has mental health and everyone’s mental health changes throughout their lifetime. Our mental health can thrive during positive periods in our life and at other times we can struggle. One in four people have mental health issues at any given time, which means we are all likely to know someone who is struggling.

This is quite a sobering thought, and you may ask yourself why poor mental health still carries such a stigma, if it is so prevalent that we all encounter it on a daily basis?  It’s a good question and one of the reasons for taking part in a mental health first aid course is to help to de-stigmatise mental health conditions.

Having a policy in place to manage mental health, along with training and awareness campaigns can help to create a positive and supportive culture within an organisation. Organisations that promote positive mental health can be rewarded with lower absenteeism and staff turnover along with increased productivity and employee wellbeing.
