Talking about stress this National Stress Awareness Month

This April is National Stress Awareness Month, an awareness month held every year since 1992, which aims to promote and discuss the negative impact of stress, and how it affects us all.

We have all experienced stress in our lives, and knowing how to effectively manage stress is essential to our lifestyle. Being equipped with the correct tools and knowing how to manage your stress can help improve your mental and physical well-being as well as minimise health issues caused by stress.

It’s time that we start taking stress seriously, and realising that stress, along with poor mental health is a public health challenge within the UK.

Did you know stress can lead to health problems such as heart disease, digestive and immune issues, and insomnia, as well as mental health issues such as depression and anxiety?

That’s why we encourage you this April to discuss stress and how it affects your home, work life and social life to remove any negative thoughts and stigma around mental health.

Start a conversation with a friend or colleague, and share advice and thoughts on stress as you’ll soon realise you’re not alone with your feelings. You’ll also be supporting someone else with their mental health too.

We are always happy to chat through stress management techniques within the workplace as part of our Mental Health Courses, we also offer an online Stress Management course, so contact us today on  07584125665 or email info@bnshe.co.uk to find out more.
